On dealing with the transition period between Monarchy and Republic, these fights produced other vanquished and defeated people. Among those whose memories have been erased, there is an active entrepreneur between 1880/1930: Carlos G. da Costa Wigg. This article intends to demonstrate a case of biographical research through which many recent discussions about the aspects of memory and forgetness perpass. While privileged sources, we found the formulation of a labor speech which had been implemented in the country by a corporatist doctrine. Thus, the employees ‘unions took an important role in the consolidation of Vargas’ labor: while it dynamized the national economy, corporatism attempted to keep Brazilian workers away from more radical left-wings movements.
Pedro Paulo Lima Barbosa Copyright (c) https://periodicos.ufop.br/cadernosdehistoria/article/view/5336 Mon, 30 Jun 2014 00:00:00 -0300 Sala de visita https://periodicos.ufop.br/cadernosdehistoria/article/view/5337
The research presented here seeks to realize a reflection about greater integration of the city of Fortaleza in capitalist culture through the use of domestic objects of the living room, between the years 1871 to 1910. The study deepens mainly in the way indigenous peoples are portrayed in his travel diaries, which later resulted in the book Journey to Brazil. It is interesting to emphasize that since the 1960s, the travel reports have been analyzed for historians, anthropologists and other areas of the human sciences. However, it is noticed that the visit to Olivença and Ilhéus when they still were villages, for the conspicuous Prince of Wied-Neuwied, as for so many other foreigners have been little studied.
André Mariano Neri Copyright (c) https://periodicos.ufop.br/cadernosdehistoria/article/view/5338 Mon, 30 Jun 2014 00:00:00 -0300 Entre a Astúcia e a Vingança https://periodicos.ufop.br/cadernosdehistoria/article/view/5339
With the lack of resources of time, lie to get rid of a conviction or lie to harm a person, would not constitute simple acts being performed?
