The concept of hierarchy of Dionysius, the Areopagite

Abstract

This paper analyzes the concept of hierarchy from a political perspective. It shows the source of the hierarchy, since its origin in Thearchia, through the angelic and eclesiastical ranks. It also seeks to highlight the developments in the organization of the Church and society. The fundamental thesis is: the Thearchia, absolutely transcendent, ineffable, unknowable, through hierarchies, perform an organizing principle of functioning in the immanent order of the world.
