Abstract

In the Brazil´s academic tradition the autobiographical writing is very rare among intellectuals, including historians, but some institutions require for professional progress one academic memorial, like a type of self-writing which mixes the personal and intellectual trajectories. These texts are rich and unexplored historiographical sources, which are used for understanding individual trajectories, prosopographic studies, historical and social processes of formation in brazilian academic life, or to identify theoretical and methodological changes that are expressed in narrative forms of historiographical works.
