This article analyzes the play Traga-me a cabeça de Lima Barreto! (2022), by Luiz Marfuz (1954-), approaching it to the concept of rhapsody (Sarrazac, 2002). The research identifies the intertextualities that the text of the play establishes with the texts on which it was rooted: the two diaries, Diário Íntimo ([1953] 2025) and Diário do Hospício, ([1953] 2017) and the novella, O Cemitério dos Vivos ([1953] 2017), autobiographical works by Lima Barreto (1881-1922). The study of the diary genre is based on Alberto Giordano (2017), the study of the character on Marfuz (2013) and the study of blackness and anti-racism on Franz Fanon (2020). The objective is to identify the points of intercession between the four works. Besides, the article aims to investigate the figure of Lima Barreto that runs through the three autobiographical texts and how he is approached as a character of himself and resumed as a historical character by Marfuz.
