The Brazilian identity myth in a David Mourão-Ferreira’s poem

Abstract
Attract by others cultures and epochs that are different of his personal patrimony, David Mourão-Ferreira writes poems that represent one special moment of his poetry. Describing and living in first person some geographical and historical scenes he creates a temporal passage that tries to understand collective memorable episodes. The real reality of the Vila Rica’s mining revolution, 1789, became an important inspiration for the poet that composed a new lyric because he’s a student of this matter. He had a deep contact with the Brazilian literature about such theme. In fact, this poem represents a new/other interpretation of the identity Brazilian myth.Downloads
