Abstract

The article analyses Rubem Fonseca's tale "O Cobrador". The character Cobrador, protagonist and narrator of the tale, poet and serial killer, alternates himself in the protest poems creation and crimes realization. His mission is collecting the historical social debt from Brazil. His motivation is the hate that he feels about the elite. This hate is the composition principle of the tale. Hate and violence include all the structure of the tale, in a form of the social tension and contradiction.
