Abstract

The present paper intends to lecture on the importance of the tragic art in Nietzsche's philosophy, and the relationship that the philosopher intends to accomplish, in a first moment, between the Greek tragedy and Richard Wagner's musical drama. This way, will be shown the hopes that Nietzsche deposited in Wagner of being one of the great renovating foundations of the culture of his/her time, as well as, in another stage, Nietzsche's deception in relation to the wagnerian project, for the fact that this would have refused of their noblemen affirmative values of the life to turn defender of the ascetic ideals.
