Abstract

This paper emphasizes the influence of the Arabic aesthetics on the thought of Giordano Bruno. The Islamic patterns present in the work of the Italian philosopher, who is herald of the infinity in the West, like Digges, discloses the knowledge of Arabic mathematics, wich conciliated the Greek geometry, refractory to infinity, and the Hindu arithmetic, close to infinity. In this new cosmological context, when the infinite space replaces the finite spherical cosmos, the Fifth Postulate is no more questionable just by its odd written (the aesthetical review), it becomes the target of attempts of proof. Therefore, thiking of introduction of the infinity as an ocidental cultural element is not only wander the history of Math, but likewise searchig for aesthetic indications in the Art, Philosophy, Literature etc.
