O CARÁTER ADQUIRIDO EM SCHOPENHAUER E A SENSIBILIDADE ESTÉTICA COMO VIA DE ACESSO AO AUTOCONHECIMENTO

Abstract

This work starts from the analysis on the acquired character conceptualized by Arthur Schopenhauer in The World as Will and Representation, with the aim of analyzing its Aesthetic contained in the third book of the same work; especially the concept of man of genius - or, to pure subject of cognition. For Schopenhauer, the character is divided into three species: intelligible, empirical and acquired; the latter being the one by which it is possible to best meet their individual skills according to their nature. The philosopher points out how crucial point, the need of the full knowledge of self, so that the aspirations of each individual are conducted clairvoyantly. From this perspective - where the aesthetic sensibility is one means of access to knowledge of Ideas seized by artistic genius, according to Schopenhauer - contemplation becomes, in its turn, an access route to knowledge devoid of the principle of reason. Our aim is knowing how to constitute the relationship between Art and Life, where the character becomes the heart of the matter. In so far as, have a contemplative stance towards life opens up to the individual the possibility of an authentic life - Lifestyle.
