The notion of happiness to Schopenhauer from the metaphysical and pratical points of view

Abstract

This article aims to identify and analyze the notion of happiness (Glück) based on the thought of the philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer. We will consider the happiness alongside with some general concepts, in view of the notion understanding in relation to the metaphysical point of view of the main work of Schopenhauer "The World as Will and Representation" (1819), and then the change of philosophical approach operated by the author when looking in a practical way, address the issue of happiness in his "Aphorisms on the wisdom of life" (1851), taking into account the so-called "deviation of metaphysics" to a better understanding of the idea of happiness from the two works selected.
