O objeto histórico como totalidade relativa

Reflexões sobre a teoria da história de Johann Gustav Droysen

Abstract

Through Johann Gustav Droysen’s theory of history, this paper aims to understand the very nature of the historical object as being a “relative totality”. In order to reach this goal, the paper’s is divided into three steps: firstly, the historical object’s foundation relies on the hegelian philosphy of the mind; secondly, the historical object is constructed only throught the narrative; and at last, in order to overcome the antinomy between idealism and narrativism, the historical object shows itself as a relative totality only when is understood as part of a set of ethical forces.
