Abstract
Herewith we demonstrate how the historian and jurist Jean Bodin applied his political practice on his conception of the absolute State, founded on four principles. Firstly he defined the social and political structure to culminate in state formation; secondly he described a sovereign’s attributes; then he considered economy and public finances in order to finally present the different governmental forms with a clear preference for the monarchy.
