Abstract

Tense and confliting, Floriano Peixoto government years saw several persecutions to some parts of society and also to individuals, with press and journalist, for example. Historically, these years are considered as a setp backwards of the political support as a result of the adoption of hard measures by the regime. Alongside this background, this article analyze the episode knowm as “Degredados do Cucuí”, which took place during the “florianista”period, using of the acots and writer Francisco Correa Vasques, looking forward to recover the political dimension of both environments occupied by him, the press and the stage.
