Abstract

The workmanship and the thought of Caio Prado Júnior take as bedding the felt concept of of the settling, from which it formulates as objective to understand the basic objectives of the settling and the structures central offices of the Brazilian historical formation. From such concept, he is possible, however, to define in its workmanship the existence of a direction of the continuity, in the measure where the colonial structures last, according to it, in full Brazil contemporary, being the overcoming of such structures the task to be assumed and executed by the progressive forces.
