Abstract

This essay expore the representations created for MEB about the north-east region in Brazil in there 1960. To the MEB and the CNBB the north-east territory and the north territory and the midde-west, was chacterized by a collection of material and cultural absences that making necessery the economic and cultural promocion of the regions. The MEB and Catolical Churchs had na idea “tow Brazils”, that affirmed the modernization projects, about the control of the south-east and yours dominant class. The north-east was represented how territory of social misery. This a image obstructed the MEB of to see the potential human and material of the territory and oculted the class conflicts.
