Abstract

It is intended to introduce the notion of temporality as the axis about which the duration, in entanglement past/present/future, founded a own aesthetic creation. Being through the duration concept (Bergson), of eternal present (Agostinho) or contemplation of the eternity (Proust), what can be seen in the three authors is the time dimension as a founder component in the identity constitution of itself. In Benjamin and Auerbach, time and creation find a useful interlacement to distinguish between objects capable of activating the involuntary memory and causing imagination, such as painting and narrative writing, and objects that merely stay at the involuntary memory level, such as the photography and informative writing, for example.
