Triagem médica em pandemia
uma análise das normas éticas e técnicas
Abstract
Technical standards may be necessary to guide decision-making processes in the event of the need for medical screening in times of scarce resources, related to the COVID-19 pandemic, especially with regard to the allocation of ICU beds and other related instruments. A careful analysis of national and international protocols and resolutions on the subject allows analyzing the extent to which technical norms express previously clarified moral norms. This same method also allows assessing the limits and ethical difficulties present in these protocols, despite their relevance to assist in the burden of responsibility that falls on the health professional, as well as the consequences on the life, survival or death of patients.. In this sense, it is argued about the relevance of carefully distinguishing technical norms and moral norms in a clinical context, as well as medical and social utility in the context of public health.
