Sports radio and conflict relations in messages sent by the audience on digital platforms
Abstract
This research aims to understand the types of conflict relations that emerge in the messages sent by listeners/internet users in sports radio programs. As an object of study, we analyze the experience of the Toque Esportivo program, on the radio station O POVO/CBN, in Fortaleza. The discussion is inserted in the context of expanded and hypermedia radio (LOPEZ, 2010; KISCHINHEVSKY, 2016) and network conversations (RECUERO, 2012) that develop on digital platforms. From a content analysis (BARDIN, 2004), based on the sound and digital assets of the programs, we identified four main types of conflict relations within this experience of a sports program on the radio: a) between fans, b) between fans and clubs, c) between fans and the press and d) between fans and other actors involved in football. For the construction of this model, we consider that the conflicting relationship originates in the fan's passionate feeling to manifest itself through harsh verbal expressions or with a joking tone directed at certain agents who can oppose him or mess with his feeling, as highlighted by Gastaldo (2005).
