Abstract

This article discusses how intervention research is an ally in the development of actions that aim to produce critical mediations. In a hyperconnected society, marked by an excess of information and the speed with which content circulates, we seek to promote research actions in which Media Education appears as a strategy to confront the scenario of disinformation. In recent years, disinformation has become a structural phenomenon that must be related to the historical context, but also articulated with new stages of the rise of information technologies. Media Education thus presents itself as a movement that promotes critical reading, access, and interpretation without, however, failing to understand the media ecosystem and its complexity. Here, we present the relationship between media education and the intervention research methodology in the activities developed by EntreMídias - Media Education Laboratory, at UFRRJ.
