“I see Oedipus in my Garden”:
Nature and Culture in Flusser and Benjamin
Abstract
The goal of this article is to compare the different ways in which the dualism between nature and culture is deconstructed and re-elaborated in Walter Benjamin and Vilém Flusser’s works. By means of this comparison, some elements are highlighted which indicate a convergence between the two author’s perspectives, specially in regards to the treatment of non-human beings and the revolutionary potentialities of the notion of “natural history” (Naturgeschichte)
