O éthos da música e da cidade grega
Abstract
From the historic point of view, music in Greece is important in three moments: (i) the intuitive one of archaic aedos, (ii) the theoretic alone of Damon and (iii) the legislative one with Plato and Aristotle.This article explains the origin of a philosophical posture that was born with the Greek: the tacit need for music in education during the first childhood to maintain the costums of the citizens(éthos) according to the values of the city. In order to do that, we use the philosophical reflection of Plato and Aristotleon the role of music in education and the use that both make of the music in youngsters education, as of philosophical criteria.
