Fundamento becomes Virtualia Journal
After 17 years since its conception, Fundamento Journal (Qualis B1) is inaugurating a new editorial phase. This change marks not only an editorial transformation but also a philosophical and conceptual repositioning of the journal.
Philosophy, by its very nature, is critical and autonomous thinking, always grounded in facts. It is the constant exercise of understanding, questioning, refining, and, of course, creating theories based on empirical observation and rational reflection. However, technology has become one of the main drivers of transformation in contemporary thought—shaping ways of life, perceptions, and even the very foundations of human rationality.
Starting from this diagnosis, the editorial board of Fundamento recognizes that even the most traditional fields of philosophical investigation are being reformulated and driven by unprecedented technological advances, especially by new forms of artificial intelligence. Therefore, with the aim of including research that not only analyzes the impact of technology on autonomy and the exercise of rational thought but also uses these technologies in philosophical practice itself, we have decided to transition Fundamento to a new editorial concept, henceforth under the title Virtualia Journal, which will now be part of, in association with Virtualia Magazine, the editorial pillar of GIFLABS.
We take this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to intellectual honesty, freedom of expression, respect for diversity of thought, and strict adherence to the ethical and editorial standards that ensure the quality and seriousness of our publication.
