New advances in Virtualia Journal: ISSN, DOI, ORCID and blockchain-based digital preservation
Virtualia Journal, a continuous flow publication, hereby announces to the academic community that its first issue, launched on February 1, 2026, has already been granted ISSN 3086-3899 by the Brazilian Institute for Information in Science and Technology (IBICT). All published articles received DOI registration, with linkage to each author's ORCID iD. The assignment of DOI ensured a unique and persistent identifier for each published work, while the linkage with ORCID enables automatic connection between each article and its authors' academic track records, thereby enhancing transparency and visibility of the journal's philosophical production since its launch. Furthermore, it should be noted that the complete volumes of both Fundamento: Journal of Philosophical Research and Virtualia Journal — the latter continuing its editorial legacy — have been hosted on Arweave. This is a decentralized storage network based on blockchain technology, designed as an immutable and permanent file system. Unlike conventional servers, where data may be altered or removed over time, Arweave operates on a "pay once, store forever" model. Once inserted into the network, documents become part of the permaweb — a permanent web, resistant to censorship, technological obsolescence, and accidental data loss. This initiative ensures that the philosophical production of both journals remains accessible to future generations of researchers, regardless of institutional or technological changes.
