Giradança Company: aesthetic experience in the diversity and complexity of artists with and without disabilities

Abstract

This paper presents the experiences with the company Giradança as choreographer, artist and director. The study addresses the choreographic creations performed with different bodies in levels and degrees of disability, as well as their integration with other bodies with or no physical disability. The work aims to reflect the choreographic creations in the context of contemporary dance. In addition, the work addresses the complexity of differences between bodies and the possibilities of enhancing the body in the dance scene, through the analysis of the national and international creations, productions and projection of the company Giradança.
