Special Issue “The Collective Body of Laughter”
2025-03-17This Special Issue “The Collective Body of Laughter” seeks to stimulate critical reflection on the political and performative dimensions of the arts of laughter and clowning within contemporary social structures. We aim artists who investigate laughter and humor whether by creating or studying them on diverse audiences of comedic shows. We perceive laughter as a performative and political act, involved with processes of pedagogy and of the composition of artistic practices, organized around principles such as the direct participation of audiences, the unpredictability that incorporates the present time into the shows, and the ritualistic movement, directed toward the construction of humor.

Novo número, novo ciclo
2023-12-16It is with great joy that we announce the publication of our new issue! And with it, we begin a new cycle in the journal, now with continuous periodicity. In 2024 we already have some dossiers scheduled and we will have formal support from FAPEMIG, aiming to further enhance our journal, also internationally, to maintain our Qualis Periódicos CAPES A1 classification and expand our presence in the most different indexers. We are extremely grateful to Professor Luciana Dias (UnB) for leading the journal to this classification, which we will seek to maintain by optimizing and further qualifying the publication processes. Wait for the thematic calls for the next issues and register yourself in our system to be able to collaborate as reviewers in 2024. A great read to everyone! A great new cycle!
