Didactic Suitability is one of the tools of the Ontosemiotic Approach to Mathematical Cognition and Instruction (OSA). Over recent years, the number of studies using this tool as a possible theoretical lens has increased. It is well known that teaching and learning Mathematics have historically involved different challenges. From the selection of content to its effective implementation in the classroom, teachers are required to master solid strategies of planning, implementation, and assessment. In this regard, the Didactic Suitability Criteria can constitute important tools, as they enable teachers to promote potential improvements in the teaching and learning process of Mathematics, as well as to foster reflection on their own practice.
Thus, the present Thematic Section of Revemop seeks to disseminate articles that contribute both to the theoretical and methodological deepening of the use of the Didactic Suitability Criteria and to the development of teacher education practices. Original articles written in Portuguese, English, or Spanish will be accepted.
Schedule:
- Opening of article submissions: February 27, 2026.
- Closing of article submissions: April 30, 2026.
- Article review period: February to July 2026 (all articles will be reviewed by at least two reviewers).
- Publication of accepted articles: on a continuous basis.
All articles must be submitted through the Revemop platform, indicating the Thematic Section “Didactic Suitability: theoretical, methodological, and practical approaches.”
